Build and Buy Mode Cheats: Full List

The Sims 4 includes a wide range of cheat codes that let you customize gameplay, manage Sims, and unlock additional features. To use any cheat, you'll first need to open the cheat console. On PC, press "Ctrl + Shift + C" to display the command window. On console versions of The Sims 4, open the cheat console by pressing all four shoulder buttons (or triggers) on the controller at the same time. Keep in mind that not every cheat is available on every platform. Some commands are exclusive to the PC version and won't work on PlayStation or Xbox.

Combine objects by ignoring placement rules (Move Objects on)

Unlock all career rewards (including styled rooms)

How to use these cheats

    Open the cheat console

    Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Mac. On PlayStation or Xbox, press all four shoulder buttons at the same time.

    Enable testing cheats

    Enter testingcheats true and press Enter. Some basic money commands work without it, but skill commands require it.

    Enter your command

    Type or paste the cheat exactly as shown, then press Enter. Replace example numbers with the level or amount you want.

    Close the console

    Press Ctrl + Shift + C again on a computer, or press the four shoulder buttons again on a console.

Frequently asked questions

1. How do I place objects anywhere in Build Mode?

Use the bb.moveobjects cheat to remove placement restrictions. This lets you overlap objects, ignore the grid, and create more detailed builds. For even finer placement, hold the Alt key while moving objects.

2. How do I unlock hidden Build/Buy objects in The Sims 4?

Enter bb.showhiddenobjects to access hidden debug items. If you also want world objects such as decorative trees, rocks, and environment assets, use bb.showliveeditobjects as well. These cheats expand the Build/Buy catalog with hundreds of additional objects.

3. Why aren't Build Mode cheats working?

Make sure you've entered the cheat correctly and press Enter after each command. Some Build Mode cheats don't display a confirmation message, even when they're active. If you're trying to access Debug objects, enter bb.showhiddenobjects first, then bb.showliveeditobjects, and refresh the Build/Buy catalog or search for Debug items if needed.
